TAIRUA

As far as natural wonders, Tairua has it all; majestic hills, meandering bushwalks, breathtaking landscapes. For fans of the sea, the soothing tidal estuary and harbour offer ever-changing views, as well as exhilarating swimming, kayaking and paddleboarding. The ocean beach is an exciting surf spot reknown by surfers and swimmers alike.

CATHEDRAL COVE

A spectacular coastal walk into Cathedral Cove, but perhaps the best way to explore the breathtaking coastline of the reserve is by kayak. Boating in and around this amazing coastline can be as simple as taking a guided scenic adventure boat tour or if you'd prefer to experience the under water world book a local guided dive tour.

HOT WATER BEACH

Within two hours either side of low tide visitors flock to the usually deserted Hot Water Beach to find hot water bubbling through the golden sand. Dig your own spa pool in the sand and relaxing in the natural springs. Often rated as one of the world's most renowned beaches - this is one experience that should be on your bucket list. The beach also boasts some great surf, cruisy cafés and art galleries
